Monument Style Signs

Monument signs are usually designed to fit the surrounding environment, and often reflect the surrounding architecture. Historically, monument signs were solid built structures constructed of wood, brick, steel, or concrete. Modern monument signs employ more lightweight acrylic and urethane materials in addition to the more traditional materials. Even though modern day monument sign structures are lighter in weight, in many ways, they are stronger and require less maintenance than the traditional monument sign structure.

Some monument signs are equipped with lighting for nighttime viewing. As such, these signs must be constructed to meet local electrical code requirements. A concrete pad may be required for seating the sign as well as a cabinet and conduit to house and protect the electrical wiring.
